On September 6, we hosted the third and final part of our collaboration with the Aichi Prefectural Ceramic Museum, “Discovering the Appeal of German Cuisine through Meissen.”
Looking back, it has been almost a year (!) since we were first approached about this project last October. Since then, I have read books on German cuisine, studied its history, and visited restaurants to experience German food firsthand. Finally, the day came when I could present the dishes I had developed especially for this event, based on my own interpretation of what I had learned.
Almost everything about this project was a first for me, but I was truly moved to see all of the guests who participated—probably every single one of them—enjoying the experience.
Personally, I also felt that dividing the event into three parts gave it a sense of narrative, making it a very rewarding project as a whole.
